Official Event Official Seaskipper Dialogue Contest!

Hey Everybody!

I'm here with you for a brand new contest and a once in a lifetime opportunity to get your own lines of dialogue into the game!

If you have been on BETA, you may have noticed that we improved the way the seaskipper works and we thought it would be a great time to give you an opportunity to add your mark to the game with some new dialogue lines for our beloved Seaskipper Captain!

How to participate

It's very simple, fill out this form here (<- click it) with your best dialogue suggestions, you can suggest which travel routes you wish your dialogue lines to be on or which type of dialogue, in case there are specific lines for those routes/types. You can add up to 3 different dialogue suggestions (more information available in the form itself on how to format it).

We will select a few of them and implement them into the game, the number is yet to be determined, it really depends on the amount we get and the amount we feel could be a good fit for the Seaskipper, but we are hoping to add 5 to 10 new sets of lines at least!

This contest will end in 1 week (on April 20th), a new thread will be made to announce the results with the winners and the new lines to be added into the game shortly after!

Seaskipper Captain: "I had the weirdest dream last night. There were a bunch of men in funny colored suits on some kind of ship in the sky, and they kept ejectin' each other off of it trying to figure out who the 'imposter' was. I don't know what any of it means but I just can't seem to stop thinking about it."

 

Just want to note that the Seaskipper system seems to be broken in the beta right now, I was going to see it so I knew how to format my entries. If you try to use the seaskipper, it just hides the token in your inventory and doesn't let you sail anywhere. Because of this I will format mine the classic way.

A video of the new system would be appreciated.

 

If you click the seaskipper word in the post you can see what it looks like, but if you are having some issues with it on beta, it's best to make a bug report and we will iron things out before it hits the main server. I know we already fixed a thing that made it not work properly because it was too fast and efficient, so we had to add some delay ^^

 

Ah I see, it does seem to work. Just not when you hold a boat pass. My bad

 

Yea boat passes since they are using the nametag item are a bit weird. They are not used at all anymore with this new seaskipper, you buy the pass directly from the gui on the boat.
We changed the merchant in Nemract/Selchar/Llevigar to exchange them back to emeralds.

 

Damn, that really ruins one of my dialogues. Oh well

 

Seaskipper: N-Nya~! I heaw a storm coming~ >w<
Seaskipper: We shouwd set saiwl quick!! kyaaa~!
*Something crashes on the sea skipper boat*
Seaskipper: owo *notices floor* w-whats this? 7 owd piwate hooks in nya pouch? (Player Name), take these~ nya!

 

humanity was a mistake

 

if the seaspikker ever said owo the world will end. period.

 

will 2 people still be able to travel with 1 pass? thats a mechanic that i personally love when playing with friends, especially if they are new to the game

 

It's party friendly yep!

Seaskipper Captain: Just serval days before, I saw serval boats ran across the ocean.
Seaskipper Captain: Do you know what I saw?
Seaskipper Captain: I saw some boats were sit some Wynn soldiers, but some of them were placed with goods.
Seaskipper Captain: I even though a horse were sittin' on one boat!
Seaskipper Captain: Such wired! Why they don't come to me for transporting their goods?
Seaskipper Captain: I remembered they ran to...... Wait, what's wrong to the map?
Seaskipper Captain: Oh, I inverted the map.
Seaskipper Captain: I don't know where're their destination, maybe they're doing some secret business.

 

Its time to try to make Berbs canon

 

Seaskipper Capitan: Hey, everyone, (playername) is sus. They were faking asteroids.

 

Alright here are mine:
Dialogue One:
Seaskipper Captain: Ehm, do you always have that head on ya'? Kinda creepy.
Revan: I know, I thought I was going to go to my grave, but nope! For some reason they kept me with 'em.
Seaskipper Captain: Did it just talk? Really weird. I dunno if I should charge ye extra for yer guest or fer it spookin me.
Revan: Hey, ya willing to accept 1 more Emerald on the fee for every minute you took finding my grave?

Dialogue Two:
Ye' ever heard of an island in the Ocean called Regular Island?
It's so Regular I don't even go there, unless ye want me to.
Nah, I'm just messing with ya. I'll get ya to your location soon as possible.
Although I have heard rumors of a secret village there...

Dialogue Three:
I've been hearing what I think is an inside joke 'round here 'bout some stairs. Stairs of all things!
How the hell is some stairs funny? An even weirder an' older joke I've heard is 'bout some walls from Fruma.
They just ain't funny fer me. What's next, a Talking Mushroom?
Eh, at least me and my boat aren't jokes. Though a lot more people have been doing business with me...
