New Player Questions

Hey everyone,

I started playing yesterday and I have troubles finding my way through the world.
I usually play with the world map open on a 2nd computerscreen to see where I am going.
Now on to my questions:

1. I currently have no idea how to get the Saccharum in the Spider Cave. I have been in there on at least 5 different Servers in hopes of it making a difference, but I can't find that stuff. I might be blind.
I tried griding spiders cuz I thought they might drop it. I tried destroying the Sugar Canes but that didn't work.
I ran through all the watery areas in hopes of finding a secret entrance to a treasure room or whatnot but it didn't help. Any tips are appreciated.

2. There is nothing that points me ahead and it troubles me. I am running around aimlessly trying to find a Mainquest (maybe I missed it?). The game Started out with sending me to the King, after that I was basically on my own and I feel kinda lost. I've been grinding level 20 Zombies and fighting a Sun God or King near some ruins but basically everywhere I go the NPCs won't give me quests before I level up a bunch or just say empty text.

3. Why won't people answer me? I tried asking ingame but I never got any response. Is there anythign I have to do in order to get one?

1. There's currently a glitch that makes those things not spawn; don't ask me when it'll be fixed.
2. There isn't really a "Main Quest", and at your level there will be a whole lot of quests to be done. And if you need to level up, level up.
3. You need to find the right people to ask.

 

1. There's a bug where the saccharum doesn't spawn in, please be patient.

2. You can see what quests you have to play by right clicking your questbook, it gives coords to a Quest Start NPC.

3. Chat ingame doesn't extent throughout the entire server, only players within 50 blocks of you can actually read it.

Hmm...if you really have a question just come to the forums, 90% of people in cities like that are people looking to sell something. They don't care about anything else.
