SPOILER Murder Mystery Quest Issue

    I was doing the Murder Mystery quest just outside of Cinfras. My book says to talk to Captain Lorias to claim my reward but when I talk to him it tells me I need to find the murder weapon or something.

    That's because you need to find the murder weapon. If you were paying attention to the dialogue, it states that the murder weapon is "definitely not in the second floor" of house #9. It should be in the form of a mysterious package, and would reveal a Bloodied Hatchet.
