multiple professions

what professions can you do at once eg. scribing and cooking?
I remember I asked this before, but it's so old that it's lost to time.

 

what do you mean by at once

 

Woodworking and tailoring both use string.
Weaponsmithing, Armoring and tailoring all use ingots
Woodworking and weaponsmithing both use wood
Jeweling is the only profession that uses gems
Specifically only reliks as well as scribing and jeweling use oil.
Cooking and alchemy also both use grains
Scribing and armoring both use paper.

Mix and match with these because when you have too much of one material you can use it for anther profession like I mentioned.
You can "do both of them at once" because they share the same materials.

 

As of 1.19 gems oil can also be used for woodworking which allows you to do woodworking with miningfishing/woodcutting instead of gathering/woodcutting. Weaponsmithing requires the same two gathering profs so you can make all 5 weapon types with the same skills too. Scribing requires the same profs.

Also ignore the scuffed parts of this chart, I stole it from some guy who made it before 1.18 actually came out.

All that said, if you're going to do professions you're almost always best off doing at least 5 crafting and 3 gatherings at once, it saves you a lot of resources. I found doing all 12 at once is the best and easiest to balance but you probably don't want to bother.

You and this chart also missed that gems can be used for woodworking to make reliks which is what I think he was asking about (woodworking and weaponsmithing also require the same two professions now).

 

Gems can be used for woodworking? Woah, I didn't think gems were used for anything other than jeweling!
