Mining

I'm new to minecraft and this looked like a fun place. My question is, is there any of what makes minecraft popular like mining and building here? Thank you

Wynncraft is an MMORPG and is not similar to the vanilla game. What really makes Minecraft popular is the game's creative freedom. It allows you to create an entire MMORPG in the game and have other people play it.

Wynncraft is a really fun server, but if you want to enjoy it, it's best to not think of it as the same game as Minecraft.

Wynncraft is like a whole other game, so Wynncraft doesn't really use default Minecraft mechanics, except for obvious ones like walking and killing.
To like Wynncraft, you don't necesssarily like Minecraft, you just need it to play.

 

This server is strictly a MMORPG game with the concept of leveling up, completing quests, and farming loot. It does not have "normal" Minecraft content such as survival, creative, mining, and so on.

Still, I'd give the server a try regardless. It isn't "vanilla" Minecraft but more on line with online RPG games.

 

Actually Wynncraft has it's own plugin for killing mobs and doesn't even use Minecraft's combat code as far as I know.

 

Well... arrows still hit the mobs, and you can still hit them, so it's the same as far as I care :P

 

I'm a grandfather and was looking for a server like this but with the original features I could play with my Grandsons. Is there anything out there like that?

 

There's plenty of servers like that, although I can't name one off the top of my head since I don't play them. If you guys live in the same house and want to play together, one of you can create a world and click "Open to LAN" in the options menu of the game, and anyone else connected to your internet router can join the world.
If that doesn't work, you can look up how to make your own server, or buy a Minecraft Realm on Mojang's website.
