Why is The Canyon Guides so difficult? Honestly, this quest feels like a chore.

The following reasons are I think this:

    • Its an Escort mission.
    • You have to escort the villager through the canyon of the lost to the temple, of which not many players even know the way.
    • The Mobs target the villager instead of you 99% of the time.
    • He stays ridiculously close to the player, so when you cast a meteor, it hits the villager instead of the Mob.
    • The Villager has extremely low health for something you have to escort through a maze full of mobs, at only 15,000
    • He has hardly (if any) health regeneration
I have attempted this about 15 times now, only twice have I gotten the villager over the 2nd bridge.
A well designed, balanced quest should feel fun, not like a task.
The Canyon Guides is in need of a difficulty check.

    tl;dr:

    The quest is too hard.

I did it first try easily, just go through the water when you can and use a build strong enough to kill the canyon mobs but not the villager.

I used mage, took me like 4 tries. You need to kill the mobs when they are far ahead of you, before actually moving forward. You can take shortcuts, and watch out for the Nii Guardians!

I just ran up to every mob and one-shot it with Alkatraz.

Also, do the rockslides kill you, the villager, or both?

Are you kidding me? That quest was too easy, did it first try.

You are probably not doing it in the right strategy.
I did it on my second try.
I failed the first just because I had to log off.

The Nii Guardians are probably what's interfering. The Nii Guardians were added late into production, months after The Canyon Guides was complete. I had redone all of the spawning regions on the path of the quest to make sure only the balanced hostiles I required would spawn, but the Nii Guardians, being extremely powerful mobs, were added after I had done this. This should be fixed soon, hopefully.
