Small update on my sample player project I shared a while back!

I've made a variety of updates, most notably recording some entirely new instruments. (We got a flute and string ensemble baby!!

There's an entirely new piano as well, with some spicy new features. I worked on a rudimentary volume fade-out algorithm for the piano. Since the note decays over time the release sample needs to account for this and have a corresponding volume. Before the volume of the release sample was simply determined by the starting volume, but now it can be changed! I still need to actually improve the algo, so the piano will still sound quite bad as is. It uses a linear fade-out based on the timing for one note, which is unrealistic. Lower notes take longer to fade out, higher notes fade out almost instantly, and the fade out time isn't linear, it's exponential. It's a good start though and I'll aim to account for those things in a future update

Enough talk though, here's some sounds

You can hear some of the faults in the piano when it plays short notes, the rel volume is way too low so it ends up sounding very cut off. Implementing an exponential instead of linear fade would mean that in these short note cases the release volume would be louder, thus hopefully fixing it somewhat!

A lot of work was done on the stuff under the hood as well. I've trained with the best shinobi and refined my workflow so it's a lot easier to add new instruments now as well. Expect some funky brass chorales and woodwind hymns and possibly full orchestral works soon! Orchestral works without perc I mean. I need to implement my percussion map still :((((

Here's another quick update I did. It's a long one, still a WIP for implementing Percussion so any percussion you hear will sound quite terrible.
Do me a favor though and sneak a peak at 4;55 and 7:15 (or the whole thing if you want!)
It's pretty damn amazing how good those parts sound! (Percussion aside)
If I manage to get it sounding that good at all times I'd be content with life.
