I've recently started a mage class (lvl 25 currently). Can someone explain the details of how teleport works? I notice, for example, that teleporting vertically only works up to a certain angle.

it only works at a certain angle, yes

so basically it’s one of the worst movement spells, the other being vanish. it’s basically a charge but you can’t see where you’re going and it doesn’t allow you to teleport when you’re not facing air

in fact you’re better off using vanish

The one major downside of Escape is the inability to chain it in midair. It would be extremely useful in, say, Dernel or Lusuco, to charge-glide like a warrior. (which is why I lootrun in CotL most of the time)

imo, teleport is second best movement spell (after escape)

not sure how you came up with teleport is bad because "it's charge but you can't see where you're going"

charge doesn't get the same vertical lift that teleport does even when not used at an optimal angle. plus, charge doesn't go as far (i think) and you can be hit out of charge via poison or a projectile or whatever. the only real big benefit you get from charge mobility wise is that you can aim and turn around corners etc.

teleport is even comparable to escape. if you have enough distance between you and your destination (which is the main drawback), then you can get higher vertical distance traveled than escape since you can cast teleport in the air. in addition, your escape can easily be canceled in something such as war a by being hit. although, escape does have speed iii which is really nice.

not to mention that teleport moves faster than both escape and charge.

    huh, ok

anyway, most of my points (and the most important one about vertical height) still stand, so

If you aim at a block you can only tp forwards or either up a lil. Aim in mid air with a slight angle (Not lower than 45% cus it will tp u straight) And it will make you tp up And it will seem like flying. I was testing this by flying from deltas to rodoroc.
