Mage Primary Attack Has no Effects/Particles

Playing with a friend who is a mage. He says his main attack does not have any sounds, particles or effects. His spells do, but his attacks just look like he is wacking the enemies with super reach. Is this issue server-side or on our side and if so how do I fix it?

 

Does he have particles turned on? Mage main attack is just some white particles so it isn’t very obvious to see, but it should be noticeable

 

it's the critical particles, they removed the white particles in 2.0 for some reason

 

Yeah but they should be visible

 

particles minimal makes crit particles not show iirc so maybe it's that

 

Yeah mages can't use attack effect cosmetics either, it's not something you can fix.
