Guide Leaving A Guild When Glitched

I've searched the internet far and wide looking for a solution to leaving my guild I've been glitched in ever since I changed my name. The only thing I found was that if the leader of your guild disbands it, you will be set free.

Today though, I found out there is another solution. I'm not sure if I will do it yet, especially since I have a feeling the guild update is near. I thought it would be a great idea to share this information with the community though in hopes of helping other people who would be willing to go through the steps of solving this.

Well, lets get to it. (It's very simple)

1. Leave your guild under your current username.
2. Switch your username back to your username you had in your guild before being glitched.
3. Leave the guild under that username.

Disclaimer: This fix to leaving your guild when glitched has only been proven when you have switched between two usernames in the mix of all of this. Most likely if you switch under all name changes it will be fixed though.

This could be already out there and I missed it, but I looked everywhere, asked a ton of people in game and could not find any way to leave a guild besides getting your leader to disband. I just wanted to help people desperately trying to leave their guild by enlightening them that this actually works.

EDIT: The person who discovered this fix made a forum as well, two minutes before me.

No way, I actually found this out from him. I probably should have asked him if he made a forum about it before I wasted my time... I'm still gonna keep this forum active though just because it can only help, not hurt.

Most of the time, when you do this, it glitches you even more.

 

How sure can you be of this? When you think about it, it makes sense.

Getting glitched in a guild consists of changing your name while inside a guild. Doing so means your previous name and your current name are now both "members" of the guild. Leaving under both names of the guild should fix the problem. If it glitches you any more, you probably changed your name multiple times while inside that same guild.

(These are just my thoughts on it, I could be 100% incorrect)

Ok, so when you change your name in a guild, your name appears twice, right? When that happens, your player data in the guild gets duped. When you change back, it gets duped again (about 90% of the time. 10% of the time it actually works and you can leave), resulting in your name showing up 3 times.
My friend has changed their name back multiple times to try to fix the glitch. He's still glitched.

 

Guild leader here, most of the times it will create a third clone in the guild but it does work from time to time

 

For the meantime, forget about the guilds. They are still broken after all.
