LeafyIsHere Vs H3H3Productions

For those of us who do not know what is going on, this all began with a video.

The popular YouTuber, LeafyIsHere, posted a video, in which he roasts a fellow YouTuber by the name of Tommync2010.
Leafy has built his channel off of this style of roasting other YouTubers, and has mostly done so without an issue.

However, Leafy claims to be unaware of the fact that Tommy suffers from Autism. Upon learning this, Leafy removed his video, and a day later, apologized in a follow up video, in which he thanked all his fans, and promised to do his research and admitted he "Fucked up,".

But, before Leafy removed his video, a popular YouTuber by the name of H3H3Productions posted the following video, in which he called Leafy a bully, and accused him of picking only on smaller YouTubers.

This video sparked a massive outcry, and Leafy began recieving criticism for his behavior.

The reason many people shamed Leafy, was because of Tommy's response video, in which he was crying, and stated he was going to quit YouTube.

Tommy reportedly received death threats, which are not something anyone can take lightly, and as Tommy showed here, he could not handle this kind of hate. Through no fault of his own, Tommy was placed in a situation in which he did not know how to react.

After H3H3 posted his video, leafy responded with this

I don't know that much about this topic, but just reading this, it seems like they are both in the wrong. Just drop it, no one wants an internet-wide flame war.
Though I mostly blame the fanbase, as I do with most things.

Leafy only made a video because Pyro quickly talked about how h3h3 had been shit talking Pyro to other people in DMs.

 

Because let's be honest, who DOESNT love black mail!

 

Leafy is influencing his fans by mistake to have such cancerous behavior.
They think it is funny to roast youtubers for fun, not knowing it can destroy lives.
Calvin (Leafy) should consider telling at the neginning of each video to not repeat his actions. Althought it won't stop all the hate, it will at least lower it.

Apparently leafy did not know the kid had a disorder, so it is not entirely his fault, plus insulting comedy is great, not to mention... If you cannot take some anonymous dummy youtube comments... I'm pretty sure the kid should just stop youtube... (No offense.... This is just my logical point of view, no haters :P) I'm totally going to kill my self if you call me mean <3 xD

 

First off mods, admins, and mini-mods, I am going to use a word that I believe is unacceptable to call somebody. It is for an example, and should you wish to award me a warning point, I will take it. I understand some people could be offended by this.

The thing is, Tommync2000 found joy in making content and his autism caused his reactions to people telling him to kill himself to be different from yours or mine.

Now I don't know what it's like to live with Autism and I won't pretend to, but Tommy found joy in making videos and helping people, and he felt punished for doing so. Is that right? How was Tommy supposed to know something like this could happen?

They aren't just dummy anonymous YouTube comments. If I said to you; "Retard, you should go kill yourself." that is still just as bad as going up to someone you don't know and saying that, if not worse.

I don't know where I sit on this, but I definitely feel like Tommy should not have to quite YouTube. It is a place where he can express himself, without anyone trying to harm him, until Leafy made that video. Leafy has apologized and supposedly reached out to Tommy, because he recognizes that Tommy enjoys making content for YouTube. Even if it is 'Cringey', he has fun. That's what matters in a world where those who are not deemed normal are restricted and pushed away. Like it or not, that's what happens.
