Kingdom Of Sand Quest Glitch

In the Kingdom of Sand quest, I'm at the point where you go up to kill the journal npc and take the journal. I make it through the mansion, walk up the stairs to where you get teleported, and get teleported BENEATH the room that I should be in, in this weird stone place. I know that I'm beneath the correct location because I can still kill the journal from beneath the floor. I keep teleporting away and trying again: I've tried this three times on two different servers and get the same result every time.

I'm pretty sure the quest is broken right now.

Try it again using 1.8.9. You can switch back afterwards, but the chunk should be there in that version.
