Item Durability Is Why

yo i straight up made an account just for this

so i made a wand using 2 star materials, and added the max amount of buffs that i could, the buffs being ones i could find in my inventory

the wand has a durability of 1. why. why does buffing your weapon make it utterly useless.

 

Perhaps those ings you used has the negative durability as a side effect, but I must admit... I laughed when I saw that 1 durability, good job

 

Love that you put a powder on it. 10/10 effort

 

uh. it could potentially be because you used:

strong flesh
vibrant augment
two powders, which were nerfed to recuse durability

all of these take a lot of dura off ur item

 

that's actually pretty accurate to what i used, but unfortunately i don't remember

i just thought it wouldn't have made my weapon into something that dies instantly

 

The durability mechanic is largely there because they don’t want you making blatantly overpowered items for your level. For example, just going off the base damage of your weapon, it has a comparable damage output to this, a level 30 wand. The point is to try and balance health and durability.

That said, it’s worth noting that 1 durability doesn’t actually mean one hit. It’s really equivalent to 20 melee hits or 12 spells, as per this guide, which means you essentially have a low level nuke in your back pocket. I’d personally save it as a secondary to melt bosses or for emergency room clearing, and just repair it whenever it breaks.

Also, in the future, try testing out your crafting recipes with this website before you make them ingame

 

The name "cruel plank of the berserker" seems to be very accurate.

 

If durability didn't exist then crafted would be way to op

 

Does the damage of crafted weapons decrease as durability decreases still?

 

Not the damage i think just the ids decrease. You need to drop a lot of dura for it to actually matter tho.

 

Damage decreases as well.

 

Ooof.... I know I said it before but that’s just too far. Even if it’s manageable to keep repairing your weapon that’s still annoying. If they added that feature to vanilla Minecraft most people would just be pissed.
