Is the Legacy4J mod allowed?

I was wondering if the Legacy4J mod is allowed?
Specifically I'm looking to use the "Console Edition 1.0.0-beta.2" or the "Re-Console" modpacks that can be found on modrinth.

I think the gamma changes the mod brings to the old xbox360 and ps3 days make the servers environment pop and I like how it looks (maybe thats just a me thing)

I also like the option it brings of being able to use a controller so I can put the game on a bigger screen and sit on the couch and play.

That said Legacy4J notifies me when I log in that the server doesn't run it and I *could* get banned if im not careful. Highlighting the "Smooth Movement" setting for controller.
