Is It Possible To Remove Paintings In Housing? [unanswered]

Is it possible to remove paintings while in housing edit mode?

I know you can just left-click them to remove them after placing one down.. but they seem to be unbreakable after leaving the house and coming back.

I've tried breaking the block behind them but they'll just float in mid-air and not actually be destroyed.

Is there any way to remove them, or are they glitched like this until a bug fix gets rolled?
