Is Charon From The Nether Portal?

I know he lead the corrupted army and all, but is he actually from the portal? Because 1. he’s sentient and intelligent 2. he doesn’t walk or move with his hands in front and 3. He doesn’t have the same colour scheme as most corrupteds. So is he just a regular zombie with a Scythe, or is he something much more?

 

I don't think that Charon and the Corruption are connected. Just like most of the other dungeons, he's been around before the Corruption was a thing.

 

I think he destroyed acient nemract after the portal was opened.

 

Short answer: we don't know. As far as we can tell, though, only 3 people have ever entered the portal: Theorick, Bakal and Garoth
