Is Assassin The Worst Class

WHY DOES EVERYONE HATE THE ASSASSIN. I MEAN IF YOU CAN PLAY SMART, YOU CAN PLAY WELL WITH ASSASSIN, RIGHT (probably not)?
Please tell me you don't hate Assassin.
And if you think Assassin is the worst class, WHY???

i personally think its because when most people play assassin, they notice its major range disadvantage.
and while it does do very high damage, i dont think people think the damage is enough to compensate for the range.
i happen to disagree, as if you have enough mana regen, you can stunlock shit, but because of that, you sorta need mana in order to use assassin offensively.
multihit is a pretty powerful spell which i think is often overlooked.
the one thing people don't realize about it, is after its most recent buff, it one shots a lot of normal mobs around the players level.
still though, it takes a while to finish which makes it unsuitable for against bosses. the quite high cost also makes it somewhat unsuitable if you dont have enough intelligence.

pretty much it's definitely not the weakest class, but people find its range disadvantage to be too much

No. It has the highest damaging spell in the game that's not arrow storm or smoke bomb(another one of assassin's spells), unless you count the flaming ground of Meteor, but I don't. And, if you have a problem with its lackluster range, you can practically kill anything in PvE by staying back and spamming smoke bomb. It's a cheap tactic but it works.

What DOES need a buff is archer. There's almost no redeeming factors about it, other than its range, which doesn't matter in tight rooms such as Matrojan Idol and Death Metal.

while i do agree, i would like to point out that in rooms like these, archer has one very overlooked spell.
arrow storm
yeah, it seems useless. because if its knockback, its hard to do damage.
but what if i told you thats why its so good?
because of the knockback, you can use it to distance yourself from other mobs such as matrojan.
and because it shoots 3 at once, it is still good in the presence of many mobs, as such in the case of death metal's fight.

sadly, it still doesnt make up for the rest of what archer is.

 

imo archer is pretty fine, my only problem how i always try to get the most value out of everything, so if i start using arrow storm i start getting real close so all the arrows hit then i die lmao

but honestly the movement speed is rly gud, helps avoiding getting hit (kinda) arrow storm is a great close range/stun attack (except sometime unpredictable and takes time to fall down and stuff but meh) escape can also be used for stun and again arrow storm to keep at range
i guess bomb arrow can be kinda hard to aim at 200+ws on top of speedIII but ya know :/

 

True, that’s why you just get a horse. Sure it costs a lot, but at least you don’t have to spell spam to get anywhere and what for your mana to regenerate. Plus enemies stop targeting you.

I kinda split on this. Assasin is definitely not the worst class, but movement is a big thing holding it back. It’s mostly in the early game that suffers the most from this. Archer used to be my favorite class just because of the damage and especially the movement. I could usually get to most places faster than with a black horse, and I’d save so much time backtracking during quests. With assasin, traveling in the early game is absolutely horrendous. That’s why I keep a spare horse if I ever create a new assasin.

In endgame though, that’s where things go 180 degrees. Archer can only take a few hits, which makes bosses or LI impossible or difficult. Assasin, on the other hand, has 40% more defense, and gets a speed and jump boost for vanish.

TL:DR Early game, archer is better than assasin. Mid-end game, assasin is better than archer. The worst class in my opinion is warrior. It hits way too slow for my tastes, and you can’t do any damage unless if you have a mythic.

Except some mobs, like the Death Metal and one form of Matrojan I think has negative knockback, which basically means that any knockback spell will pull the mob towards you.

Also, to use arrow storm, you have to get up close to a mob, which I guess doesn't matter much when the room space is so tight to begin with, but still, it ruins the range aspect of archer.

 

If it makes you feel better, warrior was my first class.

Btw, assasin is also better than archer bc it’s melee can hit multiple enemies at once while archer can only hit one. This is the most annoying in the Nivla Forest when swarms of spiders encircle you and start lagging...

Mage: Mage needs a nerf more than assassin needs a buff, there's really no reason not to use it, other than if you want to have more fun than just spamming ice snake and meteor.

Archer: First of all,

Second, unless you're using a grandmother glass cannon build, I've seen the average arrow bomb damage is 10-15k, and you can get the same damage with meteor with pretty much any good end game wand, such as a Judas semi-glass build or a spell damage build. Not to mention that most assassin build slice at least 20k multihits, with a spell damage thunder build slicing ~30k multihits.

Warrior: I don't think it's possible to get 6 attack speed tier and still be tanky(without using cancer of course)

 

Honestly, I think melee Assassin holds high untapped potential. It rivals Warrior in melee DPS (sometimes even outclassing it). Hell, if you look at item graphs, you'll see that Assassin is sort of supposed to have higher DPS than Warrior. While Assassin doesn't excel at tanking (unless you go tank Assassin), it can simply vanish if things are starting to heat up for quick recovery. Items like Flameshot Hilt and Limbo are living proof of this.

Even when not considering melee, I don't think Assassin is a bad class at all. While it's range is it's biggest weakness it pretty much excels at many other aspects. I also think Assassin is great at dealing lots of damage in quick succession in general.

Assassin is fine; I think it ties with warrior for second best class, especially with the multihit fix. Mage is still by far the best class.

Archer, on the other hand, definitely needs a rework or at least a buff. Right now, 3/4 of it's spells (escape, arrow storm, and arrow shield) force archer into close range, where it's defenses really start to hurt it. Not only that, but most bosses engame either have close-ranged arenas, some form of movement spell, or both, and their usually high DPS ends up hindering them a lot more than assassin, since assassin has a free de-aggro in the form of vanish, which allows them to hide behind a tank while archers just die.
Not only that, but other classes don't have as much spell synergy with archer than they do each other (consider spin-meteor or ice snake-smoke bomb, compared to arrow storm/arrow shield-meteor/multihit), so by endgame, archers begin to seriously underpreform in basically all aspects.
