I know these are two relatively different classes and you will probably say something like "Do whatever you want.". I would prefer a more biased answer. Just to clarify what I'm saying: I want to know which class for all archetypes you think is the most viable. So score each archetype out of 5 (1-2 for fun, 1-3 for combat) then score the class out of 15 then if you want you can leave extra thoughts. Thank you for bearing with me through this long post.

So extra thoughts are for like how expensive endgame builds are, endgame loot running viability, can it clear LI and the hive (with a "cheap" build easily solo), etc.

    Minecraft:
Both classes can be good, but I'll share some thoughts based on my experiences.

    For Assassin
    Shadestepper:
    Fun: 1 Combat: 1
    Trickster:
    Fun: 2 Combat: 1
    Acrobat:
    Fun: 2 Combat: 2

    Overall score: 9
Assassin can still be good, but after the ability tree and archetypes added in 2.0 I feel it lost a lot of its soloing potential, and the playstyles just don't click with me as much (which is entirely subjective, you might have a different opinion). I'd personally say shadestepper is the worst archetype because although it can do lots of damage, it's only really good for single targets, and doesn't really have many ways to get out of sticky situations. Acrobat IMO is one of the most fun archetypes to play around with, having great movement while still doing solid damage. Assassin is one of the classes I think has pretty solid high-level legendaries, so you wouldn't immediately have to spend an arm and a leg on buying a mythic, with daggers like Black and Flameshot Hilt still being solid picks.

    For Warrior
    Fallen:
    Fun: 2 Combat: 3
    Battlemonk:
    Fun: 2 Combat: 2
    Paladin:
    Fun: 1 Combat: 1

    Overall score: 11
Warrior is pretty great overall, doing high damage and having great survivability. With a good build, you can pretty easily run through content like LI or deal with mobs in loot run challenges because of the aoe damage you can put out and how tanky the class can be. As well, it can take advantage of dirt cheap builds like full morph set with a good spear much better than assassin can. More of the mythic spears have been showing up in the lr pools too, so you can get some of them for pretty cheap (relatively speaking) if you look around. My combat rating for paladin might be a little deceiving, it's good for combat, just relying on being tanky rather than damage, and I'd much prefer to kill things quickly than out-tank them.

I really like Warrior, so much versatality, you can go for the undying tank (my personal favorite), the glass canon or the spell spaming fast ball.

Also, lootruns currently favor warriors due to ther tanknes.
