Is An Archer/dexterity Build Viable?

Hello, I was thinking that an archer with max dexterity would be a good build because you have spell (1st and 4th I believe) that fires lots of arrows and if they do double damage that could be powerfull.
But maybe there is something i've not thought of and which would ruin the build like double damage does not apply on the spells or anything like that.
So tell me what you think of this idea.

 

Dexterity / Agility is what i build, with a little bit of intelligence because i use a lot of spells + mana steal is good.
and my maelstrom has a 20intell requirement.

 

Yeah it's a pretty good idea although i agree with Joeri that you should put some in intelligence I recomend putting some in strength so your attacks do even more damage.
