SPOILER Is Amadel Really That Easy?

I was gonna save this for later, but I'm just too curious. I just finished the questline and I couldn't believe how easy Amadel was. Sure, he was never the hardest boss in Wynncraft, but I remember almost dying throughout the fight in 1.19 with my archer. Whereas now with my Ritualist Shaman, I never got below even 90% of my health. Heck, in the 2nd phase I didn't even see where the boss was because it kept fleeing to the corner of the arena. It felt that he barely did any damage at all and was slow, especially in the 3rd phase; there was no tension at all.

So am I the only one that noticed this? I died way more times to the beginning of the Lazarus Pit quest and the boss from Roads to Peace. I even got killed by the Fleris, but Amadel couldn't even kill me once. Overall, it further solidified my feeling that the questline as a whole hasn't aged well.

 

I feel like a lot of content is just wayyyy easier now because mob health/dmg hasnt been buffed(or not buffed enough) to compensate for the op ability tree buffs
of course im not saying all mob dmg/hp has to be buffed, ofc some things need to be nerfed(tcc mobs >:C), but i think that this is mostly the biggest problem rn.

At the same time tho, I think that some big bosses that have been built up alot like Amadel could use some script spells tho, might be worth adding to Amadel bc it might be good introduction to mobs being able to carry different spells but idk

but honestly amadel was always a pushover for me, hes so fricking slow and doesnt seem to cast many spells other than storm/charge/push/pull :/

 

In 1.20, when I fought Amadel, I first tried him as well. His first few phases felt difficult, but the moment he transformed into his Wither form, he just could not catch up to me. I feel like this effect has been amplified because of 2.0

 

True; though I didn't even use any of my masks. So even without abilities he is still easy. Or at least to me.

 

He has been easy since like corkus update or something lol. he has never been updated.

 

I will say about Amadel that even in 1.20 he wasn't much of a threat. The biggest danger was his ranged mob minions in phase 3-5 that did more damage than he did. It's pretty clear that the Amadel fight could not only use an overhaul itself, but the final few sections of the Site D quest could really use some more exposition and probably a cutscene of Amadel transforming. (your first introduction to the crystals "corrupting" amadel is that his name in the dialogue is "corrupted amadel").. so i guess he's corrupt now? it's just a dated section in general.

 

His 3rd phase didn't really hit hard either; which is weird bc you'd think with the ehp nerf old bosses would hit harder than usual.

 

He also has a shadow form, even though it is lore confirmed that corruption and darkness are different forces.

 

I think that's just a separate thing from Darkness, it's more just another part of his fight that's made to feel it drawn out/bigger before the wither phase.

 

2.0 has mainly buffed classes (with slight changes that still don't effect it enough to count as nerfed than buffed in 2.0), hence why content might be easier and bosses die faster. Though, the update has made classes more glassy, so there isnt much of a problem if you play wynncraft like dark souls.

 

They did recently buff the base defense of Shaman and Archer though

 

Honestly Wynnexcavation as a whole needs a revamp; it’s hella outdated at this point

 

A lot of the questline hasn't changed much since its release beyond a few tweaks. The story doesn't make much sense and gets worse as it progresses. It could really use some more cutscenes and puzzles. Plus it feels like they just drop Wynnexcavation off the Earth; they don't show up in Gavel at all despite being from there and controlling the place.

 

Man this quest line has so much potential. Definitely need to buff Amadel for lore purposes. I want him to be so hard that it's extremely difficult to solo unless you know what you're doing, especially since the quest line is all about building up to that moment. No wonder Wynn Excavation worships the eye, they're just as weak as it

 

Yep. Replaying at-level post-2.0 I found him easier than CoW or Bob.

 

I mean
I first-tried it with 1.20 assassin, shaman, warrior, and mage
but I'm seventeen tries in and can't beat it on 2.0 archer sooo
maybe I just suck at archer

 

Wait what archetype for archer? How much Defense do you have too?

 

Just did Amadel on my Shadestepper and can confirm - Amadel's final phase (which also has its own unique theme to show it's meant to be something like CoW or Bob's Reincarnation) is basically a punching bag, especially the WynnExcavation Leader phase. The Corrupted and Shadow forms were more annoying than challenge bc of pull and push. This quest, while I actually really enjoy it, is also very dated.

 

Mfw some random dude named Garvan is stronger than the leader of Wynn Excavation with 4 hyper magic crystals

 

the entire questline needs reworking anyway
