Guide Ironman Questing Guide

Since I'm playing through a HIC run right now, I figured it might be helpful for others if I shared the guides I'm making for myself. I'll probably make a few more guides later, but I figured the most important guide when starting out is how to quest properly.

I realize the spreadsheets are a little overwhelming, but they're fairly simple to understand once you know what you're looking at.

Free quests are fairly simple. Just do them when you can to get exp. These quests aren't part of lines, and don't leave you with quest items when you're finished with them.

Special quests are separated on the wiki for some reason, so I did too. These quests can be done whenever.

Whitelisted quests are quest lines you need to wait until a certain level to do. There are some quest items along the way, but if you finish these quest lines, you won't be left with any items you can't get rid of.

Blacklisted quests are quests YOU SHOULD NOT DO. These quests will give you quest items you can't dispose of through normal means. If you can throw away the items through some method, read through the quest lines on the blacklist page like you would on the whitelist page.

Then again, for a HIC character, items like Purified Helmet of Legends and Clearsight Spectacles are really good because they are some of the few non-crafted items you can wear, which means they don't have durability, as well as they provide some nice stats.

But yes, for an Ironman only run, they do waste space.

 

Totally. I think the biggest problem I've been having is scrap management. I've given up on perfect maintenance and have let most of my gear sit around 50% :(

 

You can glitch out the quest items you get afterwards
Are corrupted village, royal trials, underice, from the mountains doable already on HIC character?
(idk if from the mountains is able to do with breathing helmet I btw)

 

fill your inventory with emeralds to get rid of quest items that cant be dropped normally

 

Creeper Infiltration isnt recommended as it DOES leave you with the Creeper Mask which is quest and i dont believe you can get rid of it until TOL, it should be in the TOL Blacklisted quest line.

 

Creeper Mask is untradeable, not a quest item. It can be thrown out after the quest, but you would still need it to do ToL, in which you can just get another mask or use your old one.
