Struggling with trying to get air defenses positive.
What do you guys think?

 

Firstly, elemental defenses aren't very important, unless they are less than -200 or if you're trying build a tank.

However, if you have such very small negative defenses, just balance it out with powdered armor.

Here I just powdered one piece of armor and also made some armor swapouts: https://wynndata.tk/s/s6ibdw.

If you don't have access to Ornate boots and don't want to spend more than 3 powders on armor, use some obscure Unique boots as a placeholder, such as Undefined: https://wynndata.tk/s/2isqy8.

 

Sorry, bad habit of mine. As an archer main, I don’t care about elemental defenses when playing archer. When I play any other class, I become much more aware of my elemental defenses because of my lack of skill on using a movement spell that isn’t escape and my fear of getting killed in one shot (even though that is ridiculous).

This fixes all of my concerns with the build. I also have access to Ornate gear.
This was more of a concept build that I found interesting rather than something I actually wanted to use. Personally, I don’t find melee mage that fun (I’m a filthy spell spammer).

 

Writhing Growth and Insulated Plate Mail got slightly nerfed from what I can tell so it’s about 15k dps now and negative water defenses. Still extremely strong.

 

In your build there is -680% main dmg, but it still says ur dmg is 4k. How does that work

Secondly, to answer your question, raw main neutral attack damage isn’t affected by main atk dmg%
