Incorporeal Undead In Wynn

Ok yalls, Ive been kinda working on a theory, and I got to this point where I'm kinda stuck. I need to search all of Wynn for a specific type of Mob. If I find it, it makes my theory a whole lot harder. If I don't, then I need to write a new theory, fun right?

Anyway, I can't search all of Wynn myself. If only there was a community of Wynncraft players who combined probably have more knowledge about Wynn than I (a single person) do...

Oh, oh wait...

So yeah, I'm here today to ask yall to rack your brains to see if you remember seeing any Incorporeal Undead in Wynn.

For those who don't know what that means, that means Undead without a body. Not like Zombies and Skeletons and Mummies, but like Ghosts and Spectres and Phantoms.

Now, theres three places I want to EXEMPT from this.

1) The whole Twain area. That's very obviously filled with our disembodied undead.
2) Icy Barrows. The "Icy Phantoms" in that I feel like are less undead and more just ice given life
3) Pit of the Dead in Nemract. That quest I plan on going through again, because it just has some weirdness going on that I need to figure out, I think.




Note: I meant Wynn Province. So no Gavel or anything like that.

Anyway, if ANYONE remembers ANY mobs that fit this description, please do respond with What and Where. It would be very helpful!

I think there's some ghosts at the entrance of the dark forest from olux. If you really want to look for more you should look in the dark or kander forest.

I specifically meant Wynn. I know the Dark and Kander Forests in Gavel are chock full of them, I need mobs from Wynn

I guess these exist (I don't know if they qualify as "undead" though):

• Cold Shadow (Ice Canyon)
• Nature Spirit (Dernel Jungle)
• Lurking Shade (ToA floor 1)
• Spirit of Makai (ToA floor 6)
• Twisted Soul (ToA floor 6)
• Devouring Wraith (ToA floor 6)
• Bound Spirit (ToA floor 7)
• Fragmented Soul (ToA floor 7)

As I said I don't know if they count as undead, they are, however, all spirits in some way or another.

I think I see where you're going with this. The Twain family have something to do with incorporeal undead.
Essentially, the Pit of the Dead is a cavern where the original miners who found the portal were buried. Their spirits remain in there, and anyone who bathes in a pool of water there is accepted by them. One thing I noticed is that they don't seem to be the corruption sort of undead, Merloni says they were insane but still human before they were executed. You may run into contradictory lore linking this to the Twains, as different sources say they were and weren't there when the Nether portal was discovered.

There are also the enemies from the Mask Macabre quest, although you can explain those by saying the salesman got them in Gavel.

 

The pirate ghosts in the giant skull in Pirate Bay (aren't actually mobs, but still can say they are the spirits of dead pirates) (is Ocean considered part of Wynn?)

Ghosts in normal and corrupted Decrepit Sewers

Spirits of the Ancients in Ancient City

 

Peculiar ones

Cold Shadows fit the bill. Nature Spirits I think are more of a "spirits of our ancestors" type thing than undead caused by corruption, but they also fit.

I'm going to disregard all the ToA stuff, just because ToA doesn't really fit into any lore...

Close. Yes, it kind of has to due with the Twains. But, as with almost everything Twain related, it loops back to Dernic stuff. As for contradicting lore, I mean, that's my job, aint it?

Oh, so there ARE ghosts in the Decrepit Sewers? That's something I need to look at. Those are going to be VERY important...

And Spirits of the Ancients also work, but I think that once again is the same deal I mentioned with the Spirits of Nature

By "not actually mobs", I mean, during the quest Beneath the depths, you need to go through the labyrinth in the giant skull and find a specific room, and when you enter it, you get this dialogue:

Spoiler: Spoilers for Beneath the Depths quest

Deceased Buccaneer: Halt it there, laddy! The wind has told us that yer looking for treasure map. Ah, ye'll not get it so easily.
Deceased Buccaneer: Ye see, us spirits are as greedy as our physical selves were. 'ere's no foolin' 'round there. We want yer money, and only then will we open the paths to the map.
Deceased Buccaneer: One full block of smashed together emeralds will satisfy our needs. Go to the front of this tomb, and flush it down the middle of that raised thing.

 

Hmm...

 

In the chamber on Skiens Island where you battle General Skien, you’ll find ”Traitor’s Ghost”.

This could possibly be linked to the Skien lore, as the insane and (possibly) corrupted but still human part fits well into Skien’s situation, both before and after being killed by the traitor.

 

Ok. This is something to think about, as Skien's lore is another thing I have been obsessing over to no real conclusion.

The connection with Incorporeal Undead and Skiens is not what I was meant to be proving, but could be valid...

More research must be done on this

this is entirely baseless but I always like to imagine the Traitor's Ghost as not actually a ghost but just Skien's paranoia manifesting in an incorporeal entity
not that that's relevant, just felt like sharing

 

But if it was just his Paranoia, how can WE see it?

Or, if his paranoia did take actual form, what magical power caused it to do so?
