Mage/Dark Wizard Incomplete Concept: Dex-int Support Dps

Hey guys with the powder update coming, meleeing especially with lots of water/fire powder will grant teamates higher damage, allowing mages support to go beyond healing and crowd control effects.

HOWEVER

I grow bored of str-int and a mage that is only healing is useless to one that can also damage! So this build will focus on a few items and be open to suggestions, hopefully helping players looking for a build which has both good offense and support.

Helmet: white cap crown for its melee and water%

Chestplate: Calidade Mail/Umbral Mail

Leggings: frosted leggings for their 2/4 mana steal and 20% water damage max.

Boots: abysso galoshes. The best boots imo in the game. Up to: 26% water and thunder damage, 33% melee damage, 2/4 mana steal, and 7 int and dex.

So far with just the pants and leggings:

4/4 mana steal
46% water damage
33% melee damage

Acessories: up to speculation

My set rn:
Reminder/Marble (if you went for calidade. You already have the int,so reward yourself with the free spell and defense)
Coral Ring
Tidal
Stotmy

Primary: lament. Ive been hearing it is getting a buff to up to 10/4 mana steal (which boosts the total mana steal to 14/4, where 16/4 is beginning to be excessive). It also has 13% water damage boosting that total to 59%. 2 water powder for the epic spell and 1 thunder powder to make use of all your thunder damage.

Secondary: hive wand with 5 fire or water powders. What? Fire? Yes, if you dont need to break out lament to deal with some big baddy you can give the damage buff to your group to take out the little ones easily. (If no lament, use 1-2 thunder and rest water powder. This is your primary weapon)


Stat Investment (Without item stats): 100 int, some amount between defense and dexterity

Strengths:
+Sexy damage
+Sexier support (healing and the water/fire spells)
+Versatile
+10/4+ Mana regen/steal even without lament being buffed
+Sexy armor (not full diamond, if item skins get readded any time soon, even sexier)
+Basically just a whole lot of sexy while still being fair. Probably my fav mage build rn, but I haven't gotten to test. If its ass I'll make a note of that and change some things~

Weaknesses:
-Please for the love of god don't get hit with fire/lightning attacks
-Low af hp, it might need to swap out frosted with something else, perhaps ley lines. Eh ill cross that bridge when I get to it (~6,100 hp at level 101 rip, that's near my level 60 fire archer's hp) (10+ with great defense is needed to live more powerful hits on mage tbh) (Also healing scales with hp too, so I would really like to test to see how it works out, just water % > hp scaling since you also get the damage)
-Near but not totally infinite spells if low ids
-Really only uses defense to not get one shot, and to boost meteor damage

 

A few suggestions:

I used to play a kinda rng mage (INT + agi/dex on the side). Worked pretty well, clericed fine in lagless environments, and can solo qira. (Proving DPS)

Something like restored ancient helm + millenium/soulsig + crystal + sodetas/mementoes. Anywhere from a level 80-endgame build.

jester ringx2, jester brace, royal stormy

Tip 2:

Try to get 129 intel. 100 just isn't enough. :D
129 means 1-mana tp/snake and 2-mana meteore, 100 doesn't really mean much.

Overall cool idea. My current build suffers from a sad lack of DPS so this might help :P

 

Yeah i understand. The helmet provides some int, as do the leggings. The boots give 7 and the wand gives quite a few too. The 100 int is just what's invested, it has plenty more.

Id use the jester set, but i really dont enjoy the choice between melee and spell there. If i can do both, then when the powder spell is charged, i can use it and immediately unless meteors and ice snakes with the massive increase to further augment my damage. Same reason I'm staying away from soul signal (-10% melee)

 

Since the api for lament is broken , so the max mana steal on lament is 2/4s

That MAYBE would be able to make lament an ok weapon.

 

Yea. My build didn't really use melee. You could just use water armor powders and sneak in a few spamclicks on an ethereal to pop powder effects.

 

10/4 for a single piece of gear? That would make lament g0d

 

How so? with 10/4 you are free to wear whatever armor you need. You dont need to do third eye + aquarius + crystal + memento because it already has such high mana steal, allowing for more diverse builds (like the whitecap crown-frosted leggings-abysso galoshes that this is going for).

And with tons of dexerity, 40%+ melee damage, and 60%+ water damage, it will deal more than enough damage.

Also, I see your desc says you ABUSE ELEMENTAL DEFENSE. Thats so bad, what a nub!111!!!!1! get out of the nether, using elemental defense is ilegel, ill /reprot u k1d

 

You're right about Albysso Galoshes, but obtaining a pair with those specific stats could be quite annoying. (Considering that its a quest item and that its required to complete another quest) I can't think of any replacements.

 

but you can by getting them out of your inventory then /fixquests to get another un'ided pair. While it would cost around 12 stratiformis bows to actually id enough times to have a shot at getting 4 perfect stats, you can get close on each with relatively painlessly.*cough*. Also with mobs giving 4x xp after the update, not doing one quest doesnt matter.

 

Oh shit I forgot /fixquests could do that. Anyways, nice build :)
