yes, absolutely. It's the de facto performance mod for modern minecraft. To make the most of it, though, you might want to look up a guide on the internet to understand what its options do

depends on why your game is running poorly. The mod frees up memory, but at the cost of minimal cpu performance. Lower memory consumption might result in less and shorter garbage collector lagspikes, but unless you're struggling with memory, it might hurt your overall framerate. A technical explanation of the mod can be found here: https://github.com/malte0811/FerriteCore/blob/1.20.0/summary.md

none of the remaining mods exist to improve your performance, and as such, will only make it worse by having to process more stuff

saves server chunks to your local machine, which might allow you to load chunks faster when your internet's bad, but is mostly designed to allow for higher render distances than what the server formally supports. Assuming that fps is all you're after, you probably won't be running a high render distance anyways, making the mod obsolete

minimal performance cost, if any (why tf is a simple zoom mod 1mb in size though, wtf?)

    eats your performance for breakfast

library mods that only exist to make other mods work. If they're loaded when no mod uses them, they only waste memory
