I Need Help Please

Ok so i was doing the creeper infiltration quest and i got to the part of needing to pick up the skin but it wouldn't work and i know that i have to kill it to pick it up but it wasn't working so i rejoined and now the name tag is only there and the skin it is invisible if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

 

The way I fixed that was by going back to the creeper cave and getting blown up by the creeper again. (And thus dropping back in front of the skin). Make sure you’re hitting the skin with a weapon, sometimes it doesn’t work when I hit it with my fist.
