Since the removal of horses from raid pools, getting a higher-tier horse is harder because the only way to get horses is the horse merchant from Ternaves or Bucie. But the horse merchant is a scammer. Sorry, but I just need to tell my story and how unlucky I am.

My friend and I decided that we must have white horses.
Yes, I know it was a dumb idea but we believed it would only cost us a few le or like 64le at max. Little did we know. At the end I spent 2x64le (all of my money!!) out of desperation only to end up with a chestnut horse. My friend’s story is more painful. He used up 3x64le which he earned by hard work (from lootruns and annie) only to get a black horse. There’s a 30% (!!!) chance you get a worse tier when you combine two horses of the same tier, and his chestnut horses ended up black horses 3 times out of 10!!
We’re so unlucky, I will never breed horses again… Man, I reckon I should have just bought a 40/40 white horse from the trade market.

Thank you for reading my short venting. I’ll never gamble again.

It would be nice if they added actual consistent upgrades for horses. Wynncraft could use a mount rework in general.

The worst part is how useless even 40/40 horses are, in modern Wynncraft.

They could add a tier 10 pegasus or something and somehow I still feel like normal travel would remain the faster option.

Yup. Rather famously, horses are sold below the average cost to breed even now. It is strangely cheaper to buy a higher tier horse than to make your own on average.

Plus most classes have decent mobility; I almost never use horses in my playthroughs. Even with the scroll nerf. Though then again I have only fully played through mage, shaman, and archer, so I didn’t have to deal with the mobility of other classes.

Yeah. Horses just kinda suck. Realistically, a chestnut is the minimum tier that actually makes sense to use for most classes. Brown horses are barely better than walking (unless you have walk speed bonus). I use them on new characters sometimes, but it's actually usually faster not to. A 10/10 brown horse is at least kind of acceptable in the early game if you're on a lower mobility class, but I genuinely don't think there's a reason to use a 1/10 unless you're deliberately not using movement spells or choose to have 0 mana regen or something, so leveling a horse to 10/10 just involves wasting a ton of time. Especially with all the downsides of using a horse (no combat, no looting chests, massive hitbox to get stuck, no water, slower climbing, worse steering), I just don't think they're hardly ever worth using.
