How would trickster's clones having multiple melee hits affect mana/life steal?

    So I've been using a trickster build that generally relies on mana and life steal to sustain itself, an in wynnbuilder it shows the life steal id going up when I activate clones, but not the mana steal id, which is confusing me. Is this indeed the case in game?

    (Would show build but can't, am lacking necessary amount of posts. :/)

    Also, when I have clones out, even allowing for the fact that not all melee attacks are likely to hit, the life steal cooldown, and having imperfect id's, I don't see the amount of life steal being suggested actually occurring in game. Is there any specific reason for this, or am I just not understanding how life steal works?

    Any help understanding this would be greatly appreciated.
