How to deal with Server Lag

I've been playing this server for a few weeks now, and have spent a number of hours trying to fix my ping spikes. I even upgraded my internet plan, but still I will randomly spike to over 350 ping for up 30 seconds at a time.

 

I have same problem, I talked to one of the moderator they said 2 thing, 1# was something about porting block to 1.19+
Server did get locked to 1.16+ but yet its still running on 1.12.2
2#they suggest me to try use VPN BC Asian proxy it not ur connection and that ping spike happen on block animation like gate open animation

Here is my suggestion that got the 30sec lag to like eh 10~ download this mod called forget me chunk and change the setting of biome build method can't remember what setting called it will work but yes am glad to tell u its not an issue from u just a server side issue

What is this VPN you're talking about? Is 'VPN BC' the name of it?

Have you tried Lithium? It reduced my lag slightly, but only for the first game session. Thought I'd mention in case you haven't tried it yet, but ill try your suggestions tonight, thank you.

 

VPN any VPN so u leave asian proxy but I don't suggest you using that also yes I do have lithuim ....and 10+ mods

 

I'm in the US. I think the other guy just assumed I was in Asia. Definitely not struggling with FPS but thanks for the suggestion.
