Hello everyone! I'm writing a ton of threads this holiday, but anyway...

This is the second part of my 5-part series, and this one focuses on the first aspect of DEPD. Discovery.

What do we mean by discovery? Well, discovery is basically just finding out about things. For many people, it's the easiest part of DEPD, but for some it poses a real problem. So if you are struggling with discovery, you are likely facing one of two problems:

Laziness: This is the common one, sadly. This attitude means that if you see a cave, you inwardly think "maybe there's something in there, but I can't be bothered to go and find out". This normally happens when you don't realise it. You need to stop doing this. You need to remind yourself that if you want to be a theorist because it seems kinda cool and maybe you'll check some stuff out, you're not here for the right reason.

That's not to say you can't overcome laziness though. It seems simple, but it's actually quite hard. I had a real problem with laziness about 5 months ago, just before the Great Lore Hunt happened. And the way I got out of it was that every morning, as soon as I woke up, when I would normally go on Wynncraft, I instead went for a short jog around the block - just over 5 minutes. Then I played on Wynncraft.

That fixed my laziness problem within two weeks.

Disconnectedness: This means that you are distracted all the time. You're always thinking, "I'd love to watch those mobs to see if I can find out what radius they spawn in, but LOOK! Someone bought my weapon on the market. I should check that out! Also, I need to clean out my spam emails".

This is actually the less common of the two problems, and sometimes they are both factors. Of course theorising shouldn't be the most important thing in your life - you have family, friends, and a job/school to go to. However, when you decide to theorise, you should theorise and nothing else.

If you take one thing away from this thread on discovery, it should be this: be curious.
It's a good rule of thumb, trust me.

This the shortest of the threads I will be making, because of how simple discovery is. Next up is evaluation, which let's just say is a bit longer....
