How Is The Wynncraft World Generated So Perfectly?

While exploring this world I love seeing the terrain as it seems to be perfectly generated. I understand the fact that this terrain is edited quite a bit via Voxel Sniper and World Edit but it had to have started out good. I am wondering whether this was started COMPLETELY from scratch like in a flat world. Or is it just a normal seed / randomly generated world where the builders had something to build off of.

 

It's completely hand-sculpted/hand-made. Using WorldEdit and VS, that is.

Yup, it's completely hand done. Even texturing the bottom of the ocean was done by hand. It's a lot of time invested but we'd do it all again if it makes the game as good as it can be!

Did you just do a really big brush or a very long, tiring //set?

 

I wouldn't classify //pos1 //pos2 //set dirt,stone,gravel,sand as long and tiring.
(I highly doubt that's actually how they did it though.)

Honestly how do you think it was? Do you think minecraft can generate this?

Ever since WynnCraft got added sense of lore in it (quests, and soon-to-be MSL), it has needed to be hand crafted. We can't trust Minecraft to do the core work, and that we just fiddle with detail, no, because Minecraft doesn't know our story. We must lay the path of the story by ourselves; from nothing, to the ground, and up.

 

Remember when the highest lvl area was troms and the CoW arena wasn't with an exit and u needed to die xD

 

If everything was hand generated, we would have dern fruma and all of corkus already

 

He said it started out good, and with the custom world setting, I think it would be possible to make some of the Wynn area.

 

I should clarify- hand done with brushes, not individually placed. And we can get better material gradients doing that instead of using //set, and we can avoid texturing the areas we don't want to be as well. We had around 10 of us doing it and it still took hours.

 

And this is the reason why Wynncraft is the only server I was willing to put more than $20 into. It's practically its own separate game.

Edit: according to my calculations, I've spent $55. on it, which is more than any other game/server.

That's not exactly what I meant. I understand that this is definitely not just a generated world and all they added were the buildings. But I was wondering whether they used a normal world as a template and edited it completely so the hills were right the ocean was right etc. I understand now that when I look at ocean level it is at 31 or so which is way off. As well as the fact that the biome doesn't seem to change. I am getting these through the statistics (F3.) Sorry I was just curious because who knows how this was made. It is just so insane what these builders can do! :3
