How Far Has The Corruption Spread?

As we know in the land of Wynn your main purpose is to fight of the evil corruption that's plaguing Wynn, but how far has the corruption spread.

But bird! We all know that its across the whole province, get outta here ya scrub!

Before we say things like that, take a look at this theory I thought up.

Across Wynn all the great heroes have been to ToL. A last safe area almost. But what if it's not?

The reason I ask this is why is the corrupted cave, a area containing the strongest corruption magic on Wynn, located near one of the good settlements of Wynn, is this to show how the corruption has infiltrated the most Pure places of Wynn?

But hey, that's just a theory, A Ga... I mean Wynn Theory!

 

I would say that the ToL is one of the most magically protected places in the province. The corrupted cave is basically just a nest that the CoW is living/spawning minions in. The actual source of the corruption is the Roots of Corruption, which corrupts the terrain directly around it. The disease of corruption impacts just about every hostile mob in the province, so the corruption must be either A) contagious, or B) airborne to spread to all of them.

 

Since Gavel and Wynn have trade routes, it's probably not too contagious from person to person. I think the airborne theory is pretty good, or maybe it's spread through a more physical way? Zombie villagers could've gotten into fights with corrupted bad guys.

 

The corruption has gotten so bad it has spread onto the forums and into every thread

 

Well, we know the Corruption couldn't spread across the ocean - otherwise it'd be at Gavel, which has been confirmed to have no undead creatures - but rather has magical monsters instead.

So, my guess is the Corruption couldn't spread over water. Which means any evil monster in any island in the Ocean must not be a result of Corruption, but of their own natural occurrences. Maybe the magic from Gavel caused the Ocean monsters? Or maybe their in their own separate category?

As for the Corruption spreading, it seems that maybe the monsters actually came out of the Nether. And I mean all of them - have you see the Nether recently? Literally 0 monsters! Isn't that... surprising?

Um, yeah. That's all I have to say. Yeah...

 

Corruption is weaker in some locations... like the time valley and the canyons.
