How Does Attack Speed Work?

Hello.
Recently I have gotten myself chestplate from The Mummy's Wrath called "Mummy's Rag" and in the stats there is "+ 2 attack speed tier". Since i am using weapon with very slow attack speed i expected it to bump up to normal attack speed, but nothing really chanded. Could someone explain to me how do attack speed tiers work?

Well, there is a cap both into the negative and positive direction.
For example, "Super Slow" is the slowest possible attackspeed you can have. If you get more debuffs, they won't be visible to you / affect your gameplay.

It might be the case that you have other negative bonuses, which balance out the positive ones you've received.
Then again, I am no expert on that topic :3

 

As far as I know I do not have any attack speed debuffs on my inventory, and also compass says that I should have + 2 tiers. :c

 

you should have normal attack speed
it wont say it on your weapon but i am pretty sure you have it
try to take off the chestplate and put it back up than take a look and see if it changed

 

Compass is sometimes wrong, also from what I've seen with my return to ether and comparing it with a maelstrom, attack speed on weapons does work, idk what the problem is here but I'll have to tell you to look over ALL of your gear and such to make sure you have no debuffs in attack speed.

 

Well, checked everything, no attack speed debuffs. And i dont feel the change at all, I did some tests with timer, still shooting at the same rate.
Also another question, do spells scale with attack speed?

 

Yes, yes they do. Higher attack speed weapons usually have lower damage, so they have hidden multipliers so they aren't weaker than slower weapons. I believe the multiplier is based on how many times a second you can hit with your weapon (melee), but im not 1000% certain and I don't know the exact numbers. Attack speed tiers from buffs will also increase your spell damage.

 

I'm pretty sure mummy's rag is glitched in terms of regular attack speed. Your spell damage will still increase tho.

its a bug all bows shoot at the same speed , alltho your spell damage still increases so dont worry
