How do you use Trance?

Since the Fruma Update, Riftwalker was reworked significantly. A friend of mine got a Trance shortly before the update, and I advised them to wait until the rework to see how good Trance would be.

I've tried looking through the Wynncraft discord, but I can't find anywhere a definitive walkthrough of how to use Trance now that it has been reworked. And, just looking at its stats and Major ID, I can't figure out why it is considered good in the first place. I've seen people say it can average 800k dps, but I can't imagine how.

Could anyone walk me through how to use Trance most effectively? Builds would be nice as well, but knowing its playstyle is more important to me.
