How Do You Have Custom Textures?

How do you guys have multiple textures for 1 type of item? Like the bow? One bow is huge and one is small and one is grey and so on. How do you do this? I am making an adventure map and i would like to beable to do this. I can make the other stuff but not the custom textures. And i assume you have command blocks to do this.

 

They are actually different items. None of them is actually a bow. Play the texture pack on a singleplayer world, and youll see that all of the weapon models are actually blocks.

 

We've used the new ability to add custom models to items from 1.8 to retexture blocks as weapons. This system allows us to make custom 3D models for any item at any size, rather than being limited to a custom 2D texture that has to be one of a few specific pixel sizes.

 

Actually, the basic items are the old ones. Shovels are the basic "Pike" spear, shears are the basic dagger, sticks are the base wand texture, and bows are the basic recurve bow texture. All others, though, are random blocks.

 

Oh =| I thought it was going to be the new option to re-texture wepons with certain durability witht he 1.9 update. And can any of you give me an idea on what to build to get on to the build team? Like a town or somethin else?

 

right, but most of the models are random blocks.

hmm. I think there is a system for applications and you have to be very skilled. you should look in the rules and information section of the forums and I think Grian tells you how to apply

 

Send in pictures of your best builds. If you get accepted, you must go through a separate trial where you build a specific themed build, and if that is good enough, you become a builder.
