Im a player that hasn't been online in about 4 or 5 years or so. I just decided I wanted to play again but the problem is all my stuff is super screwed up! How do I fix the issue of have messed up loot and no quests completed?

If you want to get more detailed instructions, search for the "returning players, read this" guide, but here are the basics.

Item system is revamped, but it's exactly what it says on the items. %spell damage on an item inceraces your spell damage by that %. +Health on an item inceraces your health by that amount. The main diferrences are revamped powders (a complex thing) and that you have to identify your items now before using them.

Of course, some items may be bugged, but just replace those items. But generally, just walk up to an identifier and identify your gear.
Some items will have requirements (such as skill point requirements) that you need to fulfill to use the item.

Generally, I would recommend starting a new class and finishing the tutorial and a few quests just so you can see the changes better.

    Other things of note:
Do /toggle chatlevel. This means that in chat, you will see your combat level, not total level (There are professions now, and profession levels are included in the total level.) This makes it way less confusing as you won't just think "why is my level 12 levels higher than it should be?"

Professions exist. Essentially: Harvest raw resource, refine that resource, craft items with it. (If you want to craft, remember to always use all 6 ingridient slots! This makes you get a ton of crafting XP!) This allows you to make your own custom items. There are 2 sorts of profession levels: Harvesting levels determine what you can harvest, how fast you can harvest, and what tools you can use. Crafting levels determine how high level stuff you can craft.

Generally, it isn't worth it until endgame.

There are hundreds of other changes, but I'll let you discover them on your own.

(Also, the reason your quests aren't completed is because some quests were REBUILT FROM THE GROUND UP and need to be redone since they are essentially new quests.)

Thanks, starting to figure out a lot of this stuff. Very different from the old game.
