how do i start a profession

Hi im new on Wynncraft, i am a warior lvl. 39 but i cant find anything online that explain how you can start a profession.
Do i start it by doing some quest or do i need to activly search for a specific NPC for a profession?
For example by doing a quest or side quest i started the profesion of fishing but i dont know how i actully got a fishing rod so i am really lost here if anyone can explain it to me or give me a link to a guid about this problem of mine it would be really appricieated.
