How Do I Get Scraps?

My dagger is getting weaker, and they say it will be less good, so I went to the blacksmith for it to tell me I was poor, get some more scraps you NOOB (or something like that lol).
So how do I get scraps?

 

You can get them by scrapping items at the blacksmith (the middle option).
If you need a lot of scrap, it's most efficient to buy cheap helmets in Ragni and scrap those, or just buy it if you have enough money, but you can also scrap any unneeded gear if you want.

Also, it's probably better to use identified items rather than crafted ones, since you don't need to repair those, unless you're doing a craftsman playthrough or have a really good crafted item.

Just to add to this, if you really want to use crafted gear you'll need to level up your professions and so a great way to get scrap is to scrap all the extra items you craft.

Pro tip:
Use wynntils, you get a map keyring, quests get beacons that can guide you, you can keybind spells and many more. Its very good its a 1.12 forge mod

 

Pro tip:
Please don't wynntils until a higher level, so you know what content is modded or not, and so you can differ between wynntils bugs and wynncraft bugs, and get a feel for what wynncraft is like without mods

 

Road from Elkurn to Ragni, if you completed Tunnel Trouble you can go to Detlas and use fast travel

And pls dont use wynntils for a bit, you really should experience orginal version of the game before using mods

 

in general i'd recommend scrapping unique items you don't need. any scrap you use is scrap that you didn't have to actively obtain; any that you don't need sells for a higher price on the market than the unique item's blacksmith value.
