Ah, I dunno how I feel, anymore.
The last time I logged in, I woke up in a new lobby, all my gear was unidentified, I had slots and whatnot in my inventory an' some of the stuff fell out. Then it told me I had to identify my gear to wear it or use it.

What?

I 'on't think this is the Wynncraft I knew anymore. This was an extremely strange business decision, it'd make me feel bad to say it was horrid. I might play on it from time to time, try to figure everything out.

There's now 5 elements,earth (strength),thunder (dexterity),water (intelligence),fire (defense),air (agility).When you get an item,you have to identify it to use it.They can be neutral or element based.Every element has ids and caracteristics,like earth is for hitting slow but strong and have frequently a poison id.Thunder and Air are hitting fast but pretty weak.There's now a new province,Gavel.It's on the other side of the ocean.
There's a lot more quests,the level cap is now 100.
I recommend you to start a new class if you want to understand the new things.

 

It was necessary to improve and "evolve" the game.
Plus, the most amount of items you could have lost was 8, of your choosing. It's not that bad.

And unless you're dirt poor, which is practically impossible these days, identifying your items shouldn't be a problem.

Here, I can explain what happened.
The reason your gear got unidentified is that the item system was completely revamped. There are 5 elements now, that are each attached to a skill point. Each element also has a few traits that go with it's playstyle. Certain weapons and armour also have skill point requirements now, and accessories were also added.

Earth: You move slow, you attack slow, you don't use spells much, but your main attacks hit like a bulldozer and you have really good knockback. Poison is an ID general associated with Earth, which adds even more damage. Thorns is also common, which reflects melee attacks back at the opponent.
Thunder: Risk and Reward. Generally fast attacking and fast moving, your attacks don't do too much damage on their own but the damage has a chance to be doubled. Mana Steal is quite a common ID here.
Water: Spam all the spells! You move at an average speed and attack at an average speed, and your main attack is kinda eh, but your spells are like atomic bombs and cost nearly no mana to use. You also commonly find mana regeneration and reflection items.
Fire: You move slower than normal and you attack at a generally average speed. You don't have anything super outstanding about your attacks but they're all still very good. Thing is, you're a tank. You take nearly no damage and you regenerate health so fast with the IDs on most fire armour that you can just stand there and not die.
Air: You move super fast but have low defence. You can dodge attacks but if you do get hit, don't expect to last long. Your attacks are weak but extremely fast and your spells are quite formidable, and you can run circles around your foes without breaking a sweat.

Also, there's a whole new province to explore and 104 quests in total, with another update coming soon that reintroduced powders, adds more dungeons, revamps the old dungeons to make them better, and adds more quests! The level cap was also raised to 100 in this update.

The staff recommends you start a new class to learn the system a bit before going back to your old classes, so you can learn the system as intended. Believe me, it's a good idea to do that.
