Help with Rise of the Quartron

So I've been working on quests, but have run into an issue with Rise of the Quartron.
I'm on the part where I have to take down the quartron and return to Nasea with the news. I killed the boss, and when the timer started ran out the mansion through the painting. However, when I returned to Nasea they say 'there's still information to be discovered' (or something like that). When I go back to try and redo the boss the timer doesn't go off after I beat it. I don't know if I missed dialogue or took the wrong exit? Either way I cannot figure out how to beat it. Help is appreciated!
