Believe this is the most fitting category. Feel free to move the thread if it's not.

    Hi.

Most of you don't know me. I haven't been active on the server for about two and a half years, and quite frankly, haven't played minecraft for the same amount of time. I'm not here to become active on the server, or introduce myself for later activity, I simply want to tell my story.

I didn't expect for Wynncraft to still be this... alive. I thought it would've died down after a while. But the community still seems to be alive and well. I didn't plan to visit this place, Minecraft in general was completely out of my life until I saw an old e-mail, and the nostalgia flowed back. Fond memories, but they were not about minecraft, they were about this place, or rather, the place before.

I've been around way longer than Wynncraft. All of this started 5 years ago, finding a youtube channel at less than 10.000 subscribers. Craftedmovie. (The newest video at the time was called "Squids discovery", dated 8th of september 2011.). It was a small channel, but I liked it. About a month later, something happened.

A server. A small one, I'll give it that, but a server. It took me two tries to apply for the server whitelist, and I finally got accepted. I still have the email confirming I'd've been accepted on the server. I can't bring myself to delete that e-mail.

There's a huge difference between a large server like Wynncraft and a small one like Craftedmovie. Every time I logged on I could recognise just about everyone online on the server. And they did too. It was a very close knit community. I stayed.

I was active on the forums and for hours every week, every month and every year for most of the servers lifespan. I had about 600 posts on the forum (I didn't post an awful lot, but I was there, read every thread.) It was silly and carefree, and i loved it.

After a year or so had passed, Craftedmovie had grown. It was now about ten times larger, and had hundreds of thousands of subscribers. But the forum and server was still the same old community. Sure, players had left, new ones had joined, but we all still knew each other. Rumors had started spreading of a huge project, not a large film like in the past (Heh, film, more like a sketch longer than 5 minutes), but something else. The mysterious project W.

You guys know what project W turned out to be. An MMO? In Minecraft? It had problably been done before, but this was something completely new from the Craftedmovie team. But it worked alright.

It took some time, but after a LONG time Wynncraft was... announced? I joined on the 30th of April 2013. I remember the highest level anyone on the server had was 27, the level cap hadn't even been reached. At one point I was one of the highest leveled classes on the server, which when i look back at it wasn't that much of an achievement.

Wynncraft was fun. But it was not what I wanted. I liked the "Normal" server more. I was a bit worried that the new server would split the community in half, but everyone stayed.

That was the peak of Craftedmovie and the begining of Wynncraft. After the release of Wynncraft videos on the main channel had a larger and larger delay between them. The delay was months between videos. But everyone stayed.

As time passed I realised I didn't stay because of the videos. I didn't stay for the gameplay either, if I did I would've switched to Wynncraft. But I stayed for the community. The community was still there, and still just as small and close as before. But the crew was tired of making videos. They had lost their passion. And because of this, new players arrived in fewer numbers. After a while the server often had less than 10 people online at all times. Old players had left, but no new players joined. People liked to blame Wynncraft for it. That it's taking up the crews time, and made them stopp upploading videos, I don't.

After a while, the invitable happened. The craftedmovie server was shut down. It didn't make much revenue, and next to nobody used it frequently anymore. And with that the forum quickly died as well. What used to be browsing the forums for hours turned into logging in, seeing that noone has posted anything (not a single post) and logging off. I gradually stopped going on the forums, too. And after a while, I stopped visiting it at all. It was the end of an era.

Wynncraft was fun, but it just wasn't the same. Minecraft overall wasn't the same. So I stopped playing and moved on with my life. But I still remember the good old days, and I value them dearly.

I don't blame Wynncraft for the death of Craftedmovie, or the Crew, really, they simply did what they had a passion for, I know I would've done the same, I'd rather thank Salted and the rest of the crew for making all of this possible, as without it, who know where I would be now?

Wynncraft met a different fate. Some popular youtuber from the yogscast made the server go from having ~50 people active at all times to hundreds and maybe even thousands, and I can't be happier about the success of it all. It's been a long time, but I wonder if anyone from Craftedmovie is still around? Everyone just seemed to dissapear after the death of the server.

This would've been more fitting on the Craftedmovie forum, but it seems that it, like the server, has been closed.

I still think about the server and the people on it, and think about how things could've been.

So hello everyone. It's nice to meet you, if you have any questions feel free to ask. This is my first and problably last post. To be honest I don't know what the point of this thread is. Maybe to see if anyone from Craftedmovie is still around, or maybe just to bring closure to it all.

Wow, what a nostalgic thread. I remember the good ol' days of CM, though I unfortunately don't remember you.

In any case, welcome back! Always nice to see a fellow oldie.
