I remember seeing a video where a guy reached a tier 4 loot chest area in the Sky Islands at lvl 1, and that allowed him to obtain several rarities and sell them for stacks of emeralds each. That video is several months old now though, so I just want to know if the spot's been patched or not.

It’s not patched since it’s not an exploit, but it’s so old it probably doesn’t make money since it’s a well known tactic

Rarities still sell for a decent amount on the market, even if it is oversaturated. But it isn't nearly as lucrative as it once was, as well as it being far more dependent on getting good IDs

It might still make some money, but diving at the seavale reef probably makes more money faster unless you get insanely lucky with the rolls.

And seavale is extremely inefficient (why do people still recommend it?), selling scrap is multiple times faster.

And selling scrap is inefficient, lootrunning is better

And lootrunning takes effort, playing the market is better...

My point was more that if it isn't faster then the lowest level, most consistent source of money then it really, really isn't worth it. That wasn't a recommendation, it was an advisory against going for rings. I too am under the assumption people know that isn't a great way to make money.
