Does anyone have a reasonably accurate formula for the XP awarded when you craft an item as a function of:
    - Level of item crafted
    - Star quality of both material types
    - Levels of all ingredients
    - Star quality of all ingredients

Also, does anyone have a formula for the chance to successfully refine a resource as a function of:
    - Level of associated gathering profession
    - Level of resource being refined

Also if you know if the refining chance will be changing with the update (I know that broken tool leads to 0% refine chance, but is it a curve or just a static cutoff?) that'd be great information as well.

If any players have collected data and derived any formulas I'll happily accept them (and would love to see your data) or if any admins *cough* salted please i'm desperate *cough* would like to help that'd be splendid. I'm trying to make a community leveling guide for professions so this'll be helpful. Cheers!

Alright, so far I believe I've determined one thing about the XP awarded formula. As opposed to calculating XP based on each individual material (which would allow the XP given from different star levels to be logarithmic, exponential, etc.), it appears to be based on the total number of stars within the materials. So if you make an item with one 1 star material and two 2 star materials, for a total of 5 stars in the item, it would grant the same amount as using one 3 star material and two 1 star materials, for another total of 5 stars. This would mean that the amount of EXP given from using higher star materials is linear.

I'm going to completely honest, if this the case it doesn't really make sense given that there's a 1% chance to get tier 3s on refining and a 5% chance to get tier 2s, but who knows. There's the chance that percent error could be at play here and I could be completely fucking wrong and it could be something entirely different, but I certainly hope not cause that would be a lot more effort to calculate.

    If you're wondering how I got this, I make 30 items. I did 10 trials where I did one combination of material stars (less here cause I used tier 3s), 20 trials with another combo with both combinations having the same total amount of stars, and the average XP I gained from both was approximately the same (3% difference, which isn't statistically significant so imma just pretend like it doesn't exist). Hope an admin or someone helps me soon, this is a lot of work just to be incorrect ;-;

When using 0 star ingredients, I suspect the formula for XP awarded to be something like this, but I really have no idea someone please help me it is 6:15 AM I HAVENT SLEPT.

    XP awarded = 1 + (materialLevel / 10) + materialStars * val + ingredientCount * 141.5 + ((ingredientLevelTotal - ingredientCount) * 6.6016)

materialLevel = the minimum gathering level for the material used. In this case 1 / 10 = 0 because that's how division works in computers, don't worry about it.
materialStars = total number of stars of all of the materials. Two 2 stars and One 1 star = 5 stars.
val = Some number I don't know and can't be bothered to find out
ingredientCount = the number of ingredients used
ingredientLevelTotal = the sum of the levels of each ingredient used
141.5 and 6.6016 only work if XP awarded by ingredient levels at 0 stars is linear. If it isn't (and it probably isn't), fuck me none of this equation works in the slightest then maybe.

    PLEASE HELP ME

All of this is observations on my little work in crafting. If you want to know this I would go ask GlassJars he likely knows...

From observations, I have noticed you get more xp for:
Items with stars, you get more xp from sturdy flesh (3*)than rotten flesh(0*)
    Stars in materials
How MANY ingredients you put in

May be entirely wrong, just noted that I would level like 8 times at once while lower level if I used 3* material+3* material+(6 3* ingredients if possible))

I'm aware of this, this is all kinda just common sense.

    I need actual formulas.
