Guild Not Working For Me

    Me and my high level friend were exploring, when he asked me to join his guild, he sent me an invitation and I accepted, but it didn't say I joined. It said, Welcome to (guild name), but I wasn't in the guild. I'm level 35. Is this a glitch, or do you have to be a certain level to join a guild. Thanks for your help.
