Guild Not Getting Any Xp From Guild Wars

Yesterday I created a guild, and did (and won) a war, which got the guild 9 level worth of xp, however, I've won 2 more wars since, and barely got any xp out of them.

I attacked the Guild Hall twice, and the Dark Forest Cinfras Transition once, and only got xp from the first Guild Hall war.

Am I doing something wrong ?

 

Winning a guild war allows your guild to claim the territory until someone else takes it. Owning the territory doesn't give you any flat XP, it simply gives you a portion of the XP and emeralds dropped by mobs killed in that area. Certain areas are much better for XP/emerald gains. For example, barely any mobs are killed in the guild hall, and the Dark Forest Cinfras Transition isn't a very popular grinding spot, so the XP and emeralds you get from owning these territories is minimal. Which is why you're barely getting any XP. I would recommend attacking territories where people grind a lot, they should net your guild a lot more XP.

 

Ok, but then, why did I gain 9 levels the first time ? Did someone somehow killed an ungodly amount of mob in a very, very short time (I owned the territory for like 5 minutes), or was it a bug ?

 

Could be, but you also need to consider that low guild levels don't take much XP to level up. It's likely that, like you mentioned, someone just happened to kill some mobs while you owned the territory.
