at higher levels this matters more, but with just 1 spider egg you can 5 minutes of a 11~% increase with some very cheap crafting materials. kill 9~ enemies and get the xp of a bonus one for 5 minutes, easily some classes can take down grind mob mobs in a few hits.

meanwhile even if you get the 72% xp bonus, it lasts for a very short time and that one was made with tier 3 materials(those become more tedious to craft with at higher levels) even if you nearly double the amount gotten from each mob, it lasts 1/4~ the amount of time and i only see the short span of use against rare mobs with lots of xp to offer.

then again this is my opinion so far, no one else has come along with their experience.

and the weakening catalyst is weirdly an exception to what i claim here, but it also applies a dmg penalty when used so... use at your own risk.

Honestly adventurers diaries are really easy to come by, especially jungle lootrunning. Slapping 6 of them is much cheaper, and gets you higher bonus, at the cost of having to carry more scrolls

 

oh god plz use tarnished gold foil instead, and just carry around more scrolls

When ur higher level adventurer's diary or stolen goods is the way to go, but tarnished gold foil is a lv5, 0star ingredient that you can get a stack of in just a few minutes of mob grinding in a cave behind Katoa Ranch. Much easier option, that can be used all the way from early game.
