So this video was released by Nintendo yesterday and is about the development of Metroid Prime 4, announcing that they're basically remaking the game from scratch, in collaboration with Retro Studios.

What do I think of this? Well, I think it's great that they even bothered making a video about this, especially with the multitude of unfinished products that can be found on the market nowadays. I think it's great that they are willing to spend time and money to ensure a quality product and on top of that I appreciate the transparency. It takes courage to straight up say that you're scrapping your old project and starting anew, but so far it seems to have worked out. From the like/dislike ratio it's pretty clear that fans are also quite understanding of the situation, which is a pleasant surprise to me.

Anyway, just thought I put this out there for the people interested in it. Stuff like this doesn't happen very often.

I have a love hate relationship with Nintendo, but their transparency in this video does show they do have a passion for making games that people do enjoy. Nintendo addressed the cancellation of the game themselves rather than letting a game journalist having to break the news is something I really respect in a publisher (cough cough EA cough cough).
