(Fruma Spoilers) Questions about vanish...not always vanishing

During my time on the Fruma Beta I was using a spell shadestepper build. Also during my time on the Fruma Beta there were multiple quest stages where vanish broke and would not gray out the player's health bar or give them invisibility to mobs. I don't think I need to explain why this is detrimental All of these instances could be fixed with /class. The stages I reached were:
A Journey Home; Stage 18- Kill the Guards and Escape
The Cursed One; Stage 16- Join Syndra at the Festival
Solidarity Of Steel; Stage 15- Defeat the Soldiers Attacking the Woman
These are all of the instances I experienced the issue, but did not get much further beyond this, so there may be more.

Upon the release of the expansion, I was eager to see if this problem has been fixed. As of completing AJH and The Cursed One however, they had not. I also encountered the issue while attempting to complete the Stackpeak egg collecting mini-quests. I submitted a bug report about these and am aware of vanish causing issues throughout the beta. Given this, I would like to ask if this is just a problem that slipped through the cracks, or if it is intended due to vanish breaking parts of the content mentioned.

Any information about the cause of this, others experiencing the issue, or other instances of the problem occuring are greatly appreciated!

I should probably mention that the Wynntils vanish cool down tracker worked during these instances, and the shadow travel speed boost was given. I could also gain knives with a spin attack while in "vanish" both on the beta and main server.

Also, if it helps( though I doubt it will) I recall experiencing the bug probably 6-12 months ago in the boss room of Corrupted Decrepit Sewers. No other instances of it before or until Fruma.

 

Bump, I would like to know if others have noticed this or if it was intended.

 

Bumping once more, am I the only one to encounter this? Was this intentional?

Surely I'm not the only active forums member who plays shade

 

A friend of mine noticed that enemies seemed to be attacking him while he was vanished, but he thought that it might've been an AoE that hit him and knocked him out of vanish. That said, he noted that it seemed to be happening a lot.

 

From my experience, the only enemies in Torann that have aoe attacks are Lillies, so he was probably experiencing it as well.

 

Still happens in solidarity of steel as well, but was somehow fixed after dying during the fight and coming back

 

I noticed this as well- I think? I can't remember exactly where, but I did have a few times where casting vanish, or dash I guess, wouldn't make me vanish o-0. No blacked out health bar, no invisibility on the skin, and vanish wasn't/shouldn't? of been on cooldown. It was within like the first quest or two of getting to fruma (I haven't had the time to progress since :') ).


I'm not sure if this also counts, but I've noticed that even before fruma, some specific mobs will completely ignore the fact that they shouldn't be able to see you. I've had the most beef with the... is it called permafrost drake? in the molten heights lootrun. It's kinda hard to stab something in the back when its face (and subsequent BEAM of projectiles) is still tracking you as you run around it, while invisible... lmao.

 

Also those beam and Flamethrower enemies from Decommissioned War Machines, hate those things.

I'm going to assume that it was the Fort Torann fight from A Journey Home for you as well.

Update: got back on my assassin and did Off The Rails, then did a lil bit of moving around.. then realized vanish broke again :,) but hey it was working during the quest, so I think I broke it while doing my moseying around, most likely after interacting with something OR maybe its related to cutscenes..?
