From The Mountains Question

I recently was doing a quest called "From the Mountains" which is to sum it up, a guy asking for help because his house was on fire. I reached stage 8 which was to kill a giant boss-like magma cube called Fleris. I died to this boss and came back to the mountain spot but, I can't find the NPC called Axelus and I can't reignite the quest. He dug a hole to get to the Fleris area but, I cannot find it. My quest is stuck and I'm unsure what to do next, if you could help that would be greatly appreciated!
