Media Friends List Mystery

Alright, so I'm worried about the fact that "new friends" are being added to my friends list. Here, let me show you.

This is a picture of my friend list around 12AM today:





I don't remember who this "Urbo" is, but I checked all my logs and found nothing of him being added. He must have been added around 10/30 or later. I decided to change my Minecraft password just in case I got hacked or something. I doubt it because my password isn't easy to guess.

Then later........

This is a picture of the list I got recently in the past few hours from the API:



As you can see, "4nonhumansYT" has been added. This must have happened before 2PM today. I wasn't online to add this name at the time.

I logged in to my account today after noticing this new name, and thankfully it seems nothing was taken that I cared about and it seems I'm in the same place that I logged out in. I'll check all my classes later.

A few minutes later I checked the API again just now because I quickly logged in to add a test account to my friends list, but it wasn't completely updated. The only thing that was changed was the last logged in time.

If the API works like this, then if someone DID login to my account, the LL time would have been updated. It wasn't at the time I checked. The names just popped up like ghosts for some reason. I don't know what's going on. Any ideas?

 

This is pretty scary, i've been getting invalid login sessions recently...Mojang really needs to step up with their security.

 

As far as I'm aware, the API updates pretty quickly, so I'm not really sure what the issue is, if there even is one.

 

Main issue: The users Urbo and 4nonhumansYT got added without my knowledge. It's possible that they could have changed their username and somehow got added to the end, but I didn't add them or even remember adding the old names to my FR. My online time wasn't changed when they were added.

 

Sometimes the game will add new username changes to your list, but it doesn't always seem to work.

 

If this is true, then an old username must exist for 4nonhumansYT somewhere on the first list. His old usernames are 4no, phooon, _Xaphan_, DoctaWho, and zupton2001. None of the usernames are on that list. I'm just all spooked and maybe overreacting.

 

In reality, it's unlikely that someone is accessing your account and adding people. Is that really the only thing you would do if you were going to get into someone else's account?

Im quite inactive but this has happened to me before (long time I would think, few months ago?), where I logged in after a long time and decided to filter through my friends list
what ended up happening was that at least 5 names were there who I removed (I had never seen their names before, and this is in addition to checking their old usernames), which got me really confused because I dont add people I dont know that well

I would say it was odd, but I dont think it was a person hacking/accessing my account or something, and more some sort of weird bug thing for the friends list

The only real answer I can think of is name changes, or just a bug/glitch.

 

I kinda fingured that, but I just wanted others to express their opinions on this. Sorry if I've been too much trouble. :P (I was legit worried at first, btw. Spooky.)

 

omg this happened to me as well I had a bunch of random ppl that were on my friends list

 

This has been happening with me, fairly often actually.

Not only multiple others but myself too has been added to my own friend's list haha, and I'm positive I was not on my own friend's list before. In fact the same day that I was added to my own friend's list, I had multiple other friends and others complaining that I was either on their friend's list when they never added me, OR that I appeared on their friend's list twice (You can try, it's not possible to add someone twice).

This is definitely something to do with Wynncraft, not your account being stolen.

 

Sounds like every current tech horror movie.

Same! I logged in today, got off for school for a couple hours, then got back on, got 5 new friends, odd.

Maybe they replaced gavel and gave us some new friends instead.
